Measurement Week in Year 6
The Year 6's have enjoyed a measurement week where they have been applying their measuring skills. Throughout the week the children have focussed on weight/mass, capacity, length, angles and word-problems.
In each area they have used measuring equipment accurately and had to read scales. Whilst applying these skills to word problems, the children have had to convert from one measure to another by multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100.
In the capacity group, the competition was on to create a drink of juice with exactly 25ml of orange cordial and 150ml of water. This may sound easy, but we only had 8 children who were successful, out of 32!
Have a look at our photos and see what fun we have had, whilst really having to apply our skills!
