Hamer School Flooded Subway

31st March 2015

Dear Highways Department,

You may remember that I wrote to you on December 8th and again on 24th February regarding the subway between Halifax Rd and Albert Royds St which so many of our families use for safe transit to school being flooded.  Your department acted very quickly on both occasions to drain the flooding because our families were having to cross a very busy dual carriageway as a result of the subway being impassable.

I am writing today with the same issue having arisen again.  The subway is flooded and we are worried that our families are once again risking the traffic rather than wading through the subway.

As a short term measure, could the subway be drained as a matter of urgency again?  However, can I also reiterate my plea to find a more long term solution along the lines of improving the drainage system so that this health and safety risk is not one that continues to recur?

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you once again for your support for the health and safety of our children and families at Hamer.

Yours Sincerely,

Simon Moore
